Biography:

Professor Robin Chowdhury obtained his Bachelors Degree from Banaras Hindu University,India , a Post-graduate Diploma from the University of Roorkee, India and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. He is currently an Emeritus Professor at the university of Wollongong ,Wollongong ,Australia where he held the position of Dean of Engineering during 2002 .He was Head, Department of Civil ,Mining and Environmental Engineering from 1994 to 2000 and Director , Sustainable Earth Research Centre from 1990 to 2002 . He has achieved national and international recognition as a scholar and researcher, has been invited as a national and international consultant and also as a keynote speaker at prestigious international conferences. He has made significant contributions in the field of slope stability and landslide studies, probabilistic analysis and the assessment and management of geotechnical hazard and risk. With more than 200 publications over a career spanning three decades, he is still active and continues to publish research and scholarly articles
